Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have released an official update on the condition of their Ghanaian winger, Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw, who suffered an injury during the club’s ODM@29 final match in Mombasa against Bandari FC.
Adu-Kwaw, who has been one of Gor Mahia’s standout performers in the new season, was stretchered off shortly after scoring the decisive goal that sealed a 1-0 victory for the 21 times league Kenya Premier League champions .

The talented winger gave K’Ogalo the lead with a sumptuous free kick but was forced off the pitch moments later.
According to the club, Ebenezer Adukwam sustained a soft tissue injury to his shoulder region after coming into direct contact with Bandari captain Abdalla Roma during a physical duel.
The impact caused visible pain and immediate distress, prompting on-field medical intervention before Adu-Kwaw was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

In a statement, Gor Mahia Team Doctor Brian Odongo confirmed that the winger is currently under medical care and that imaging tests have ruled out a fracture.
“Medical assessment and imaging confirmed a soft tissue injury to the shoulder region,” Dr. Odongo said.
“While the diagnosis rules out more severe damage like a fracture, the player’s recovery timeline remains uncertain. He is currently under medical management, with follow-up sessions planned to monitor his recovery and determine his readiness to return to play.”

The news comes as a blow to Gor Mahia, who have been relying heavily on Adu-Kwaw’s creativity and pace on the wings.
Since joining the club during the off-season transfer window , the Ghanaian has been in excellent form, scoring 3 goals , a brace against Sofapaka in the Sportpesa League and another against Bandari in the ODM@20 Finals and providing an assist in Gor Mahia’s 1-0 win over KCB in the SportPesa Premier League.
