Bandari FC mounted a spirited comeback to defeat Murang’a SEAL 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Mbaraki Sports Club, clinching their first victory of the 2025/26 SportPesa League season and giving interim coach John Baraza a promising start to his tenure.
The Coastal-based club entered the match seeking their first win, having taken just one point from their opener against Kariobangi Sharks before suffering a subsequent loss to Shabana at home.

Meanwhile, SEAL traveled with confidence after a commanding 2-0 victory over APS Bomet in their second fixture.
They carried that momentum into the game, breaking the deadlock within just five minutes through Joe Waitheri to seize an early lead.

The hosts, however, dominated possession and equalized ten minutes later courtesy of Geoffrey Ojunga.
They continued to press for a second and found their reward just past the half-hour mark when Amza Mubarak headed home, sending Bandari into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.
SEAL were forced into two first-half substitutions, with Robert Mundenyu and Jackson Imbiakha making way for Joseph Omulama and Nichalous Omondi, but the changes failed to shift the momentum.

After the break, both sides introduced fresh legs to invigorate their attacks. Baraza made his first double substitution, bringing on Mohamed Barisa and Naaman Balecho for Darius Msagha and David Sakwa.
Later, Izzadin Ramadhan and Said Tsuma replaced William Wadri and the goal-scorer Ojunga.
Despite further changes from SEAL’s Don Otieno that failed to pay off, Bandari extended their lead in the 77th minute.

Joseph Otieno sealed the victory with a third goal, a strike that propelled his side to fifth place in the standings with four points.
The club will now await other matchday results on Sunday to see if they can maintain their position heading into the October international break.
