Tusker FC will have to wait a little longer to secure their first win of the SportPesa League 2025/26 season after suffering a second consecutive defeat, falling 2-1 to Posta Rangers on Saturday afternoon at Dandora Stadium.
It’s been a rocky start to the campaign for Charles Okere’s charges, who began the season with a 2-0 loss to KCB. Tusker had hoped to turn things around in this encounter, but a determined Rangers side extended their own winning run, having edged Mathare United in their opener.
Barely two minutes into the match, the hosts delivered an early blow by drawing first blood. Eliud Lokuwam found the net with a clever chip volley, following a run and pass from Brian Otieno into the box.
Tusker custodian Brian Opondo got a hand to it but could not keep it out, giving Rangers an early advantage.
Seven minutes before the half-hour mark, Posta Rangers doubled their lead, again through Lokuwam.

The forward finished brilliantly after receiving a well-placed cross from Caleb Olilo on the right, following good interplay with Otieno. Lokuwam’s crisp strike gave the Pamzo-led squad a comfortable cushion.
Tusker reduced the deficit in the 35th minute when Eric Kapaito opened his goal-scoring account.
After missing a penalty in the opening match, Kapaito made no mistake this time, tapping in a volley from a long forward pass by Erambo, beating goalkeeper Fredrick Odhiambo who had ventured off his line.
The first half was largely dominated by Posta Rangers, who created several clear chances compared to the visitors. While only two found the net, Tusker was left ruing defensive lapses, particularly on the wings and in midfield, which proved costly.
After the break, both teams displayed equal energy. Rangers came close to a third in the 60th minute when a Trevor Omondi free-kick struck the woodwork. Eight minutes later, Lokuwam nearly sealed a hat-trick, but his effort from an Olilo cross again ricocheted off the corner of the frame.
Despite making several substitutions, Okere’s charges could not capitalize on the few opportunities they created, as the Posta defense remained resolute to secure all three points.
