Kenya Legends successfully defended the SportPesa Legends Cup for the third year in a row after thrashing Uganda Legends 71-35 on aggregate in the 2025 edition of the tournament.
With a narrow 19-17 advantage from the first leg, the Kenya Legends recorded an emphatic 52-18 win in the second leg played at the RFUEA Grounds, the biggest margin since the inception of the tournament in 2023, to complete the three-peat.
A brace from Kenya 7s all-time top try scorer Collins Injera and Victor Mose as well as tries apiece from Wilson K’Opondo, Tony Owuor, Victor Sudi and Edwin Machanje got the job done against an overrun Ugandan side.

Legends Cup 2025 match report
With home advantage, Kenya were the quickest off the blocks with former Kenya Simbas captain Wilson K’Opondo slicing through the Ugandan defense after a sumptuous short pass from Darwin Mukidza. Tito Oduk successfully converted to give Kenya Legends a 7-0 lead.
Uganda managed to get their first points on the board via a penalty but Tony Owuor scored under the posts to extend Kenya’s lead to 14-3 following a successful conversion.
With momentum on their side, Kenya got their third try courtesy of Kenya 7s all-time top try scorer Collins Injera who showed some neat footwork as he sidestepped the Ugandan backline after being put through on goal by the returning Lavin Asego. Oduk missed the conversion as Kenya led 19-3 at the break.
Uganda got their first try of the game in second half through former Uganda 7s captain Michael Wokorach who powered over the line to reduce the deficit to 19-8.
An explosive winger during his days, Victor Sudi showed glimpses of his class as he latched on a pass from Injera before breaking clear, pushing the lead to 26-8 after conversion.
Vincent Mose and Edwin Machanje then added two more tries, which were converted by Darwin Mukidza, for the Kenyans who extended their lead to 40-8 before Uganda scored two unconverted tries to bring the score to 40-18.
In the last ten minutes, Injera and Mose completed their braces to seal the emphatic 52-18 win after Mukidza converted only one of the two tries.
