The 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit reaches its grand finale this weekend, from Saturday 13 to Sunday the 14th, with the Dala 7s to be hosted at the Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu.
This event marks the sixth and final leg of the series, following the successful conclusion of the Driftwood, Prinsloo, Christie 7s, Embu 7s, and Kabeberi 7s tournaments at various venues across the country.
The pools for both Division One and Two are already confirmed.

However, all eyes will be on Division One, which is poised for a thrilling climax as the overall title is a two-horse race between KCB Rugby and Strathmore Leos.
In this piece we will break down the potential outcomes that will determine the champions of this 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit finale.
KCB vs Strathmore Leos Dala7s 2025: SportPesa 7s overall title Permutations

Mathematically, both the Willis Ojal-led and Andrew Amonde-coached sides have a chance to be crowned the new overall circuit champions, succeeding the Kenya Harlequins.
KCB leads the standings with 104 points.

They have enjoyed a highly successful 2025 campaign, reaching all five previous finals.
In those appearances, they secured three titles (Driftwood 7s, Christie 7s, and Kabeberi 7s) and finished as runners-up twice (Prinsloo and Embu 7s).
The university side has also had a strong season, advancing to three finals and winning two of them – both against KCB.
They successfully defended their Prinsloo 7s title in Nakuru and also won the Embu 7s.

However, they finished second at Driftwood, third at Christies, and fourth at Kabeberi 7s, placing them second with 95 points, nine behind the Bankers.
The scenario for the title is as follows: Strathmore Leos must reach the finals of the Dala 7s to have a shot at the overall title, which would give them a maximum of 117 points.
This outcome also requires that KCB is eliminated in the quarterfinals and progresses no further, as the bankers would then only reach 114 points.
However, if KCB manages to advance to the main cup semifinals- even if they don’t reach the final, they will earn 119 points.
This would be two points more than the 117 the Leos can achieve by winning the cup.
Dala 7s 2025: The overall title could be decided in the quarterfinals

So, essentially, the championship could be decided as early as the quarterfinals.
This could happen as follows: KCB headlines Pool C of the Dala 7s, while the Leos are in Pool D.
This setup means the two titans could meet in the quarterfinals.

This would occur if KCB tops Pool C and the Leos finish second in Pool D, or if the Leos win Pool D and KCB places second in Pool C.
To avoid an early showdown, both teams must win their respective groups. KCB has been placed alongside Mwamba RFC, Homeboyz, and Embu, while the Leos will face Menengai Oilers, Impala, and Kisumu RFC.
If both teams top their groups, KCB would face the runner-up from Pool D in the quarterfinals. The Leos would then be hoping that team eliminates the Bankers.

Meanwhile, the Leos would face the Pool C runner-up, hoping to advance to the semifinals and ultimately the final while KCB is knocked out.
However, if KCB advances to the semifinals, the title race is over for the Leos, even if they clinch the Dala 7s cup.
The burden is thus on the Leos to perform flawlessly; they could even aim for second place in Group D, hoping KCB finishes first so they meet in the quarterfinals and they can defeat them directly.
This sets the stage for a tactical battle from the group phase all the way through to the quarterfinals.
