Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia have announced a 25-man squad set to travel to Tanzania for a clash against Simba SC in the annual Simba Day celebrations on Wednesday, 10 September 2025.
Harambee Stars midfielder Austine Odhiambo has been included in the travelling party following his surprise omission from the national team despite being the joint top scorer in the recently concluded African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2024.
Five players currently on international duty: Alpha Onyango, Michael Kibwage, Lewis Bandi, Ben Stanley Omondi and Sylvester Owino have also been included.

The club confirmed the players will join the team in Dar es Salaam on Wednesday after completing their 2026 World Cup qualifier against Seychelles on Tuesday.
“A total of 25 players will be travelling to Tanzania tonight for the match against Simba SC on Wednesday; those engaged in national team duties to join the team in Dar es Salaam,” the club posted.
New signings Siraj Mohammed, Fidel Origa, Felix Oluoch and the Ghanaian duo of George Amonoo and Ebenezer Adu-Kwaw are also part of the contingent making the trip.
Meanwhile, Alphonce Omija has been omitted from the travelling party amid reports linking him with a move to Tunisian Giants Etoile Sportive du Sahel.
The clash against Simba will present a great chance for new head coach Charles Akonnor to test his side against strong continental opposition.
Along with his new technical staff, he aims to use this encounter as preparation for the upcoming 25/26 Kenya Premier League season, as the squad seeks to move on from their trophyless 24/25 campaign.
