Kabeberi 7s Group stage recap

Pool A
KCB headlined Pool A and dominated the group, winning all three of their matches.
They opened with a thumping 54-0 victory over Mean Machine, followed by a commanding 31-0 win against Mombasa RFC.
In their final group match, they edged Nakuru RFC 21-15 in a nail-biting encounter.
Despite Nakuru’s dominance in open play, their missed conversions cost them dearly, while KCB capitalized on every opportunity to punish them.

Nakuru ultimately finished third, while Mombasa advanced to the quarterfinals.
Mombasa RFC were undoubtedly the surprise package of the day.
Currently at the bottom of the overall standings with just five points, the Anthony Ndegwa-coached side opened the day by narrowly beating Nakuru RFC 15-14.
Although they fell 31-0 to KCB in their second match, a 10-10 draw against Mean Machine was enough to book them a place in their first-ever Cup quarterfinal.
Pool B
Strathmore Leos overcame a spirited Kenya Harlequins side in their final group match to complete a perfect 3/3 record.
The Leos defeated Quins 27-14 to secure top spot, having previously dispatched hosts Mwamba RFC 27-10 and crushed Impala RFC 31-0.
Mwamba finished second after a 17-0 win over Quins and a tight 7-5 triumph over Impala.
Quins ended third with a single draw, while Impala exited winless and will compete in the Challenge Cup.

Pool C
Daystar Falcons, strengthened by the return of Patrick Odongo, topped the pool unbeaten.
They opened with a 25–12 victory over a challenging MMUST side, then defeated Homeboyz RFC 15–7, and closed with a 24–12 win over Catholic Monks.
Catholic Monks finished second with two wins: a 26–5 result against MMUST and a 26–10 triumph over Homeboyz RFC.
Pool D
Even before Kabras Sugar and Menengai Oilers met in the final group match, both had secured quarterfinal spots.
The game determined the pool winner and subsequent pairings. Although Oilers started strongly, a resilient Kabras side dominated to win 28–0.
The Millers maintained an impressive points record, having also defeated Kisumu RFC 61–0 and Embu RFC 53–0 without conceding a single point all day.
