Leading the list of signings is Elias Mugane, last season’s National Super League top scorer.

Mugane joins Ingwe from Fortune Sacco FC on a two-year deal after an outstanding campaign where he netted 22 goals and provided 9 assists.

No stranger to the spotlight, Mugane had also led the scoring charts in Division 2 back in 2018/19 with 18 goals.

His arrival is a major boost for Leopards, who struggled for goals last season and were in desperate need of a reliable striker.

“AFC Leopards is a big team in the continent; they have a very good structure which encourages any player who wants to showcase their talent to join them as it gives an equal opportunity to them. Joining AFC Leopards will push me towards achieving my dreams of leading the scoring chats in the Football Kenya Premier League.”

“The support and welcome from my new teammates, the coaching staff and the management has been great. This has helped me settle in very fast as a player. There’s a lot of love in the team.

Defensive reinforcement: Brian Ojok signs for three years

On the defensive end, Leopards have brought in right-back Brian Ojok Nyongesa on a three-year contract. He arrives from Soy United after playing a crucial role in their promotion to the National Super League.

Ojok is known for his speed, tactical discipline, and ability to support the attack. He notched 17 assists and scored once in Soy United’s promotion-winning season.

The club has also signed goalkeeper Samuel Ambale Kusindi on a two-year deal. Kusindi, a former AFC Leopards Youth player, rejoins from Division Two outfit Nashville FC in Nairobi.

In addition to that, AFC Leopards have strengthened their attack with the signing of Ugandan international forward Samuel Ssenyonjo, who joins on a two-year contract from Ugandan Premier League side Express FC.

Ssenyonjo arrives after an impressive season that saw him finish fourth in the league’s top scorers’ chart with 12 goals. The prolific striker has also earned 10 caps for the Ugandan national team. He previously featured for KCCA FC, Wakiso Giants, and Bright Stars.

AFC Leopards promote from within

Alongside the new signings, AFC Leopards have promoted two attacking midfielders from their youth setup: South Sudanese playmaker Deng Kang and Jamala Obeid.

Both have signed three-year contracts and are expected to add creativity and energy to the midfield.
