Speaking during the post-match press conference, Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy expressed confidence in his side overcoming Madagascar.
“We’ve done our homework on our opponents, so we know their strengths and we also know where they may not be as strong. I think the group stage we have been in, it has been hard for the group. There has almost been no rest for the team, because every team we had to face is probably equally strong to win the CHAN tournament.
So, it has been tough and we have survived that. Now, it’s only going to get tougher. I think it depends on how well we prepare, then how mentally ready our team would be and as long as we go into the field knowing that we give 100% and we play to our full potential then something positive can come from this because I think after the tests we faced in our group stages, there is not really a team that we are afraid of anymore,” he stated.
Kenya football team vs Madagascar date and venue
The much awaited match between the Kenya national football team and Madagascar is set to be played on Friday, August 22, 2025.
It will take place at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium. According to the organizers, this game will kick-off from 5pm Kenyan time.

How Harambee Stars and Madagascar performed in their CHAN group matches
Harambee Stars finished at the top of Group A after securing 10 points. This group had tough teams such as Angola, DR Congo and Morocco.
Kenya, who are yet to suffer a defeat in the delayed CHAN 2024 tournament, registered three wins.
Those victories came against Morocco, Zambia and DR Congo.
On the other hand, Madagascar settled for the second position in Group B. The team collected seven points in the group that had the co-hosts Tanzania, Burkina Faso, Mauritania and the Central African Republic.
