A curious development is unfolding ahead of the Tanzania vs Morocco African Nations Championship quarterfinal, where Kenyans are reportedly buying tickets for the massive clash. While both Taifa Stars and Atlas Lions have fans in the East Africa region, the claims that Kenyans are purchasing the tickets has raised eyebrows. Is it an act of solidarity with the CHAN 2024 Pamoja co-hosts or sabotage?
Tanzanians and their East African neighbors Kenyans have had a football rivalry for many decades with fans of both the Harambee Stars and Taifa Stars claiming that they are better in football compared to the other.

Similar to the Kenya vs Madagascar tickets, the CHAN organizers have provided an online website where football fans can buy tickets for the Taifa Stars showdown against Morocco.
The Mzunguko tickets for the Tanzania vs Morocco game are being sold at 2,000 Tzs. The Orange and Premium ones are sold at 5,000 Tzs and 10,000 Tzs in that order.

Kenyans struggle to buy the Harambee Stars vs Madagascar tickets
However, it has not been easy for football fans to access these tickets, particularly those for the Harambee Stars quarter-final match against Madagascar because the ticketing site, mookh, is experiencing heavy traffic.
Since Tuesday, most Kenyans have been trying to access the tickets for the much awaited match that will be staged at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani Stadium on Friday, August 22 from 5pm local time.
It is highly likely that the frustrations to get the tickets for the Kenya football team quarter-final fixture has made them try and see if the ones for the Tanzania vs Morocco tie are easily accessible.

How Tanzania and Morocco performed in their CHAN 2024 Group fixtures
The Taifa Stars gathered a total of 10 points in the four matches that they played in Group B which was enough to help them finish at the top of the table.
On the other hand, Morocco finished second in Group A after amassing nine points.
The Atlas Lions won three of their matches, beating DR Congo, Zambia and Angola. Their match against Kenya ended 1-0 in favor of the co-hosts.

The CHAN quarter-final match pitting Tanzania against Morocco is scheduled to be played on Friday, August 22, 2025.
This match will take place at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium from 8pm EAT.

Lastly, the winner of the Tanzania vs Morocco CHAN quarter-final fixture will face either Senegal or the Uganda Cranes in the semi-final that will be played on August 26.
