After a successful run in the first three legs held in Mombasa, Nakuru and Nairobi, the 2025 SportPesa National Sevens Circuit heads into its fourth outing this weekend with the much-anticipated Embu 7s.
The tournament is scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of August at the Njukiri Showground, with the pools for Division One, Division Two, and the women’s category already confirmed prior to the Christie 7s finals held last weekend.
The Embu 7s will make its debut on the national circuit this season after the local committee won the hosting bid.

The Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) subsequently rebranded the event from the former Ingo 7s, with Embu securing the rights to host this leg for a two-year term.
KCB Rugby headlines Pool A of Division One, having been crowned the new Christie 7s champions.
Their stellar performance earned them their second cup of the season after also triumphing in the Driftwood 7s.

Strathmore Leos, seeded second on the overall table with 58 points, lead Pool B.
They will be eager to rebound after missing out on a finals appearance for the first time this season at Christie 7s.
The Leos are also the defending champions of the Embu 7s, which was held last year though not part of the KRU Sevens calendar.

This time, they face stiff competition from Kabras Sugar, who were eliminated in the group stages of Christie 7s and will be looking to redeem themselves.
They will also be joined by Impala RFC and Kabete Stallions, the latter promoted to the top division after clinching the Division Two title at Christie Sevens.
