American company Nike is set to release a new running collection in partnership with Kenya’s world-class runner and world record holder Faith Kipyegon.
This is just ahead of Kipyegon’s upcoming attempt to complete the Breaking4 challenge on June 26 at Stade Charléty in Paris.
What is the Breaking 4 challenge?
Breaking4: Faith Kipyegon vs. the 4-Minute Mile is a partnership between Nike and triple Olympic champion Kipyegon, who will attempt to become the first woman to run a mile in under 4 minutes, a historic benchmark that was once considered insurmountable.
Kipyegon will be seeking to improve on the 4:07.64 world record time she set during the Monaco Diamond League meeting held at Stade Louis II on 21 July 2023.
“I’m a three-time Olympic champion. I’ve achieved World Championship titles. I thought, What else? Why not dream outside the box?” said Kipyegon. “And I told myself, ‘If you believe in yourself, and your team believes in you, you can do it.’”
According to the details, the collection features four distinct silhouettes, each designed to balance performance with style while highlighting their unique purpose in the running world.
Comprised of Nike ZoomX AlphaFly 3, Nike Pegasus Premium, Nike Pegasus Plus and Nike Zoom Pegasus 41, the drop is unified by rich tones of purple, burgundy, and vibrant splashes of green, the designs are both bold and functional.
The standout of the collection is the Nike ZoomX AlphaFly 3 — a shoe fine-tuned for marathon speed. Equipped with Zoom Air units that store and return energy with every step, and a full-length carbon Flyplate for added stability, it’s built to go the distance without compromising comfort.

“I want this attempt to say to women, ‘You can dream and make your dreams valid,’” says Kipyegon. “This is the way to go as women, to push boundaries and dream big.”
“This courageous attempt at breaking a monumental boundary embodies the alchemy of art, science and athlete, resetting ambitions and amplifying impact.
Together with athletes, we approach problems systemically, creatively and parametrically — no problem too large, no detail too small. As always, we stand in awe of helping athletes achieve greatness,” says John Hoke, Nike Chief Innovation Officer.
