- Bidco United defeated KCB 1-0 on Monday, May 19, at the Kenyatta Stadium.
- The three points lifted them off the bottom of the table, moving one spot up to 17th place with 32 points.
- They must win their final two matches against Kakamega Homeboyz and Sofapaka to avoid the relegation axe.
Bidco United climbed one spot above the relegation zone after narrowly defeating KCB 1-0 on Monday afternoon at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos.
The result handed KCB their fifth consecutive loss and extended their winless streak to nine matches.
The crucial victory came courtesy of Kevin Musamali’s penalty conversion, which sealed the Oilers’ sixth triumph of the season.
The three priceless points propelled them to 17th place with 32 points, overtaking Nairobi City Stars, who dropped to the bottom of the table with 31.
With merely two fixtures remaining, the relegation dogfight remainswide open, as seven teams languishing between 13th and 18th positions are still entangled in the battle to avoid the drop.
A mere four points separate 13th-placed Mara Sugar from bottom-dwelling City Stars, underscoring the risky nature of the standings.
For Bidco, survival hinges on their final two encounters: they trail Mara Sugar and FC Talanta by three points, Posta Rangers by two, and hold a on epoint behind Kariobangi Sharks and playoff-bound Murang’a SEAL.

Head coach Anthony Akhulia will be urging his side to secure maximum points in their final two matches against in-form Kakamega Homeboyz and Sofapaka. However, the challenge is formidable.
Homeboyz are enjoying a nine-match unbeaten streak and currently sit fourth in the standings. Meanwhile, Sofapaka are coming off a commanding 7-1 demolition of Tusker FC and have surged to seventh place.
KCB, under Patrick Odhiambo, have endured a torrid run since their last victory on March 15, 2025, when they edged Ulinzi Stars 2-1.
Since then, the Bankers have managed just two points from nine games (two draws, seven defeats), dropping from title contenders to ninth place with 41 points.
To manage a respectable finish, KCB must win in their final two fixtures against Nairobi City Stars and AFC Leopards.
