Gor Mahia head coach Sinisa Mihic has struck an upbeat tone, expressing confidence that the club is poised to secure a domestic double this season, clinching both the 24/25 Football Kenya Federation Premier League title and the FKF Cup.
Eyeing their third successive top-flight crown, K’Ogalo currently sit third on the league table with 53 points just five adrift of league leaders Kenya Police, who have 58 points.
Importantly, Gor Mahia still have a game in hand, keeping their title hopes firmly alive.
They host relegation-battling Nairobi City Stars on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Dandora Stadium, before traveling to face Murang’a SEAL and Ulinzi Stars.
Their final match of the season, originally slated to be against Kenya Police, may be rescheduled due to the highly anticipated Mashemeji Derby against archrivals AFC Leopards.
Depending on fixture changes, they could face Kenya Police before meeting Ingwe.
In the FKF Cup, Gor Mahia have been a formidable force.
They secured a 2-0 victory over Kariobangi Sharks in the quarterfinals, booking a semifinal showdown against Murang’a SEAL.
With both trophies within reach, Coach Mihic remains highly motivated, praising the energy and resilience of his squad.
We’ll be ready for that game for sure (against Nairobi City Stars), and we expect to win this and all the other games. We want to win a double – the league and the cup. Everything is going well at a pretty high level because of the energy of the players. They are not tired, which is very important in May,” he told the club’s media.
He added that the team is determined to win all five of their remaining league games to improve their chances of lifting the title.
I also see some players who weren’t used much in previous matches , they are really stepping up. So I think we’ll have the best month, and these five games will showcase our best performances. For sure, we will show our resilience, win the title, and reach the cup final,” he added.
