The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) 2024/25 Cup round of 16 kicks off this Saturday with three thrilling fixtures that features a double-header at Mbaraki Sports Club and a standalone clash at Dandora Stadium.
The headline clash of the day sees giants Gor Mahia traveling to Mombasa to take on fellow Premier League side Bandari FC at the KPA Mbaraki Sports Club with kickoff slated for 3:30 PM EAT.
Gor Mahia, eyeing a domestic double this season with the FKF Premier League title still within reach, booked their spot in the round of 16 in dominant fashion, thrashing Githurai All Stars 5-0 in their previous match at the Dandora Stadium.
The match saw 2024 MVP Austin Odhiambo net a brace, with Gedeon Bendeka, Mark Shaban and Alpha Onyango each contributing a goal.
Under the stewardship of Sinisa Mihic, Gor Mahia will be aiming to progress further in a competition they last clinched in 2021.
They enter the encounter as favorites, currently sitting third in the FKFPL standings with 46 points just three adrift of table-toppers Kenya Police who have played an extra game.

Boosted by a hard-fought 1-0 win over KCB on Monday, April 7 courtesy of yet another Odhiambo strike, K’Ogalo are firmly in the hunt for a record-extending 22nd league crown.
Their spirits are further lifted by the return of star striker Benson Omalla whose registration was recently approved by FIFA.
His inclusion is expected to bolster their attacking threat as they pursue silverware on multiple fronts.

Bandari, on the other hand, are no pushovers.
Currently placed ninth on the FKFPL table with 36 points, the coastal outfit remains a formidable force. Despite a 1-3 loss to Shabana FC last weekend, Ken Odhiambo’s men are determined to bounce back.
They secured their round of 16 berth by edging out Al Azizia of Meru 3-1 at Mbaraki Sports Club.

With home advantage and motivation to reach the quarterfinals, Bandari will be keen to spoil Gor Mahia’s title ambitions.
This high-stakes clash promises to deliver fireworks as both teams battle for a coveted spot in the next round.
Denmark vs Kariobangi Sharks
Before the main event, fans at Mbaraki will be treated to another exciting fixture as Denmark FC takes on Kariobangi Sharks at 1:00 PM.
William Muluya’s Sharks, who reached the semifinals in last season’s edition, come into the match in solid form following a 2-1 league win over FC Talanta at Kenyatta Stadium.
They also edged out Zetech Titans 1-0 in their round of 32 clash at Dandora Stadium.
Meanwhile, Denmark FC secured their progression after a dramatic showdown against Donholm Senior. The match ended 2-2 in regulation time, with Denmark eventually prevailing 5-4 in the penalty shootout.
Nairobi United vs KCB
Elsewhere in the capital, Dandora Stadium will host a blockbuster tie between National Super League leaders Nairobi United and top-tier contenders KCB FC at 3:00 PM.
Nairobi United are enjoying a sensational run under the leadership of former Nairobi City Stars coach Nicholas Muyoti.
