Gor Mahia Vice Chairperson Sally Bolo has warned arch-rivals AFC Leopards to brace for a tough outing when the two teams meet in the first leg of the Mashemeji Derby on November 30th.
AFC Leopards are currently enjoying a fine run of form and remain unbeaten after six rounds in the 2025/26 SportPesa league season with their unbeaten streak dating back to the last fourteen matches (6W 8D).
For Bolo, however, this is another chance for K’Ogalo to flex their muscles.

“AFC Leopards are on a good run. Let’s admit they’re awake and performing well, and as a Gor Mahia stakeholder, I respect good football. But trust me, form counts for nothing when it comes to the Mashemeji Derby,” she said.
The two teams enjoy a long-standing history of rivalry. Ingwe, the oldest club in the country, first faced Gor Mahia on May 5, 1968. The two teams would go on to lock horns for more than five decades, with Gor claiming the most Kenya Premier League titles (21) compared to Leopards’ twelve.
Bolo used the weight of history and Gor Mahia’s perennial status as champions to drive home her message.

AFC Leopards warned ahead of upcoming Mashemeji Derby
“On 30th November 2025, we write another chapter of this great rivalry. Our green and white wave will paint the stadium and once the whistle blows, it’s about heart, history and who truly owns Nairobi.
Mashemeji, enjoy your streak for now. Gor Mahia is coming and we come with pride, passion, legacy, and the full weight of the badge. In the derby, there is no luck, it’s K’Ogalo till full-time,” she declared.
The 99th Mashemeji Derby promises to be a fierce contest. Gor are currently second on the table with thirteen points, with Leopards in third and just a point shy of the record champions.
Gor will face Police FC, Kariobangi Sharks and Tusker before the clash against Leopards at Nyayo Stadium, while their rivals play Mara Sugar, Murang’a Seal and Kariobangi Sharks before battling for glory in the Mashemeji Derby on November 30th.
