- Ulinzi Stars lost 0-1 to Sofapaka on Friday afternoon at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
- Being their fourth consecutive league defeat, their head coach Danstun Nyaudo was left frustrated by his strikers missing chances.
- Ulinzi Stars are just five points above the bottom-placed Nairobi City Stars.
Ulinzi Stars manager Danstun Nyaudo was left a disappointed man after his team suffered a 0-1 loss to Sofapaka in their home match at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Friday afternoon.
Ulinzi, making their return to their home ground after a period of closure for renovations, endured their fourth consecutive defeat in the FKFPL, having secured just one win in their last nine matches.
Bramwel Simiyu’s solo goal in the first half was enough to get Sofapaka to winning ways, while Ulinzi’s poor form continued.

They currently sit 13th in the league standings with 28 points, just five points clear of the relegation zone, where Nairobi City Stars occupy 18th place with 23 points.
Reacting to the disappointing result, Nyaudo expressed frustration, stating that the strikers had significantly let him down this season, which he described as the worst spell he has encountered as a manager.
“I really don’t know what to say anymore. We are creating chances, but we are not capitalizing on them. This is the biggest failure I have witnessed in my coaching career. My strikers have really let me down in all of these matches,” Nyaudo lamented in an interview with Azam TV after the match.
He acknowledged that he could not blame the entire team but highlighted that some players, particularly the strikers, had failed to convert the opportunities they were given.
“I cannot place the blame on all the players, but my strikers, especially today had several good chances. In the first half, we created three good chances, but none of them gone in. The same thing happened in the second half. Even up to the 90th minute, we had another chance. I am becoming even I don’t know,” he added.

Nyaudo urges Ulinzi Stars players to fight for the badge
The gaffer urged his players to focus on their responsibilities and perform for the team, even if there were external issues affecting them.
When you start making excuses about issues off the pitch, it makes no sense. Once you’ve agreed to play for the team, you need to take responsibility. When chances come your way, you have to seize them. Any complaints can come after the match, if there are issues outside the pitch. But as long as you’re wearing the team jersey, do your job,” he concluded.
Ulinzi’s next challenge will be a midweek fixture against league leaders Kenya Police on Wednesday.
