Record Kenyan champions Gor Mahia FC have strengthened their squad in the mid-season transfer window to help them achieve their objective of retaining their Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title.
Gor Mahia, who have struggled to impress this season, will be hoping the six new signings that includes three foreign players shall enhance the squad.
The team’s head coach Sinisa Mihic had requested the management of the club to bring in some new blood since he did not have enough quality players at his disposal.
According to Mihic, some of the Gor Mahia players had a negative body language that made it extremely hard for them to win games.

“To be brutally honest, we need five new players upfront. We don’t have quality. If you put a player from the bench they must bring something if they are professional, not walking like that.
We have players from the bench. They didn’t bring anything to the team. Just walking. You cannot be in Gor Mahia like that. Energy is not good. Second half, you make personal changes, nothing happens. So, we need quality guys,” he stated then.
The club heard his pleas and granted his wish with K’Ogalo bringing in Ugandan foward Charles Bbaale (Rayon Sports FC), Cameroonian winger Patrick Essombe Ekandjoum (Sportive De Douala) and Congolese goalkeeper Giscard Mavoungou who joins from AS Otoho of Congo Brazzaville.
The club also signed three local players in Kevin Monyi, Ben Stanley and emerging midfielder Sydney Ogutu.
Monyi has joined the club from Nyanza-based side Kisumu All Stars while Stanley was acquired from Kakamega Homeboyz. Ogutu signed from Kibera United.
Essombe and Bbaale are expected to bolster K’Ogalo’s attack while Ogutu and Stanley will provide Mihic with options in the middle of the park.
Meanwhile, Gor Mahia have also parted ways with five players. These players include Kevin Juma, Musa Masika, Dolph Owino, Sydney Ochieng and Enock Wanyama.
