- Gor Mahia shared spoils with Bidco United in a FKFPL match that was played on Thursday.
- Gor Mahia manager Sinisa Mihic has stated that the club needs to recruit five players in order to stand a chance of winning the FKFPL title.
- Gor Mahia will battle it out with foes AFC Leopards in the first Mashemeji Derby of the season on Sunday, March 2.
Gor Mahia head coach Sinisa Mihic has hit out at some of his players after the club failed to pick up the maximum points against a struggling Bidco United side in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match that was played on Thursday evening.
Gor Mahia, who entered the match that was staged at the Kenyatta Stadium as the favorites, missed several goal scoring chances and in the end settled for a barren draw with the hosts.
The disappointing result caused the defending champions to miss a golden opportunity of reducing the gap between them and league leaders Kenya Police FC, who were beaten 2-0 by Mathare United in an earlier match.
Gor Mahia, who have dominated the league in recent years, maintained their third position in the standings with 36 points, five less than Police FC.

The outcome angered Mihic, who blamed a number of his players for failing to put enough effort on the pitch.
According to the Croatian, some of the players in his squad should be replaced during this mid-season transfer window in order for the club to stand a chance of winning the title.
“We need to refresh things. If I am the coach, or other coach, we need to replace some players. They are not good for Gor Mahia,” he stated.
Mihic, who holds an UEFA Pro coaching license, added that the team needs at least five quality attacking players.
“To be brutally honest, we need five new players upfront. We don’t have quality. If you put a player from the bench they must bring something. If they are professional, not walking like that.
We have players from the bench. They didn’t bring anything to the team. Just walking. You cannot be in Gor Mahia like that. Energy is not good. Second half, you make personal changes, nothing happens. So, we need quality guys,” offered

Mihic and his charges will have to go back to their camp and work on their weak areas before their next match where they are set to lock horns with AFC Leopards.
A win for the K’Ogalo in the match that was rescheduled will help them reduce the gap between them and their fellow title contenders Police FC and Tusker FC.
On the other hand, Bidco United, who are one of the very few clubs that have managed to collect four points from Gor Mahia in a season in the last three years, will be hoping to build on today’s outcome to avoid relegation at the end of the season.
The Anthony Akhulia coached side have amassed 19 points so far this season, a run that has made them occupy the 17th position in the FKFPL table.
