- Daniel Ebenyo finished third in his full marathon debut in 2024.

One-time Commonwealth Games silver medalist Daniel Ebenyo will be in action at the upcoming 2025 Seoul Marathon.
Ebenyo will aim to finish inside the top three positions in the road race that shall be held on Sunday, March 16 in South Korea.
The upcoming race will be the second full marathon race in his career and comes less than seven months since he made his debut at the 2024 Chicago City Marathon where he clocked 2:06.04 to register a third place position behind his compatriots John Korir and Amos Kipruto.

According to the athlete, who has won all the major cross country races that he has taken part in this year, he is in an excellent position of shining in the streets of Seoul.
“This win places me better ahead of my marathon next month where I will be competing in the Seoul Marathon.
I hope to finish in the podium bracket,” Ebenyo stated after clinching the Athletics Kenya (AK) National Cross Country Championships in an event that was held on February 8 at the Eldoret Sports Club.

The 29-year-old produced a killer kick in the last stages of that race and went on to cross the finishing line in 30:48, beating the likes of Nickson Kogei and Simon Mungai in the process.

A few days later, Ebenyo went on to triumph in the 2025 Sirikwa Classic Cross Country Championships.
The National Police Service athlete was followed by that and in the race that took place at Eldoret City’s Lobo Village.
Therefore, Ebenyo heads to South Korea with an excellent form that makes him one of the favorites to escape with the title.
A win for Ebenyo in the World Athletics Gold Label road race will increase his chances of representing Kenya in the much awaited 2025 World Athletics Championships that is set to be held in Tokyo, Japan between September 13 and September 21.
Ebenyo has indicated that he will be keen to make it to Kenya’s marathon squad to Tokyo.
However, he has also not ruled out representing the country in other disciplines such as the 10000m race.
