Gor Mahia head coach Sinisa Mihic is furious with some players at the club, branding them as unworthy of the team’s standards.
He has hinted at revamping the squad following their goalless draw against Bidco United on Thursday February 20 at the Kenyatta Stadium.
The Croatian tactician has only managed one victory since taking charge of the reigning champions, beating Mathare United 2-1 in his first game in charge before being held to a 0-0 draw against Tusker and Bidco.
This mixed performance has left the 21-time top-flight champions in third place on the league table with 36 points, having missed an opportunity to narrow the gap with league leaders Kenya Police who suffered a loss to Mathare United on the same day.

Under the new manager’s leadership, he has expressed his dissatisfaction, labeling some players as lazy and unfit for the team as he hinted at going into the market.
“If they are professionals and not putting in the effort, I can leave tomorrow. But the problem is not that. We have players from outside who contribute nothing to the club—they’re just walking. You cannot be part of Gor Mahia like that,” Sinisa angrily told Azam TV after the Bidco match.

He also pointed out that the energy within the team was lacking, with several clear mistakes being made in the game.
“We had to make substitutions because in the first half, I must say, players like Charles and Bryson weren’t performing as they should. They can be upset, but that’s the truth,” he added.
Sinisa highlighted the issues that contributed to the team’s underperformance in the match.
“In the second half, I made some tactical changes, but nothing improved. We need quality players. After what I saw, I replaced one defender, and something changed, but not significantly.
I saw the problem again when we were with four in the defense line. We lack speed, which is why we are more effective with three defenders and full-backs,” he explained.
With aspirations of defending the championship, Mihic stressed that the solution for the club lies in overhauling the squad and bringing in new, fresh players.
“Our energy was not up to par today, unlike before. Bidco had one more day of rest than us, but still, we should have scored. Secondly, we made too many individual technical mistakes, from crosses to passing.
The team needs a refresh. If I’m the coach, or any coach, we need to replace some players—they are not suited for Gor Mahia,” Sinisa reiterated angrily.
Gor Mahia’s next challenge will be against AFC Leopards in the highly anticipated first leg of the Mashemeji Derby, set for Sunday at Moi International Stadium.
