The parents of the late Kelvin Kiptum have requested individuals who worked with their late son to help them overcome financial challenges.
According to the parents, they are enduring a lot of struggles at the moment, something that would not have happened if their only son was alive.
Kiptum’s mother Mary Kangogo has asked Golazo, the agency that handled Kiptum’s affairs, to compensate them.
On the other hand, the late world record holder’s father Samson Cheruiyot has refuted claims that were allegedly made by Athletics Kenya (AK) director of youth affairs Barnaba Korir that their future is secured.

“We as parents of the late Kelvin Kiptum want to know more about his future’s security you are talking about Mr. Korir.
It is now a year and we don’t know where the children of our son are up to date so Mr. Korir, do you assure us that Kelvin Kiptum’s children are secured?
Are you aware that we are suffering as parents and Kiptum used to take good care of us, now our insurance that our son had insured us expired on December 31, 2024, surely Mr Korir, are we really secure?” he was quoted by Tuko News.
