Gor Mahia will be hoping to continue with their winning run under their new head coach Sinisa Mihic, who was appointed earlier this month.

The Croatian tactician guided the team to a 2-1 win over Mathare United in his first match in charge.

Weaknesses

Speaking after the narrow win, Sinisa acknowledged that his charges have some shortcomings in certain areas that must be worked on for them to stand a chance of success this season.

“We must be more clinical in front of goal. We missed too many chances and became nervous, but we eventually played better. Going forward, we need to finish our chances,” he stated.

Gor Mahia, who have a game in hand, will be seeking to collect all the three points in order to stand a chance of winning the FKFPL title.

The defending champions occupy the third position at the moment with 34 points, seven less than league leaders Kenya Police FC, who hammered minnows Bidco United 2-0 on Saturday. The team has picked up 10 wins, four draws and five loses since the start of the season.

Support from the fans

Sinisa has also urged the K’Ogalo supporters to continue supporting the team and turn up in their thousands during matches.

“We need energy from them. Of course, they need to believe in us, even when we are now in that position. But still, we are on our way.

Thank you to the fans, and I hope to see them in the next game and we will enjoy and celebrate together,” commented the ex-NK Lokomotiva Academy manager.

On the other hand, Tusker FC, who recently crowned Chrispine Erambo as their player of the month, head to Machakos expecting nothing less than a win.

The Brewers have had an excellent campaign in the FKFPL so far under the watchful eyes of Charles Okere.

The Ruaraka based club sit second in the standings with 38 points having lost only four matches since the start of the 2024/2025 season.

A win against Gor Mahia will help the former champions to match Kenya Police FC’s tally at the top of the table or even overtake them should they score more than four goals and keep a clean sheet.
