Kenya Police FC extended their lead at the top of the Football Kenya Federation (FKFPL) table on Saturday evening after beating Bidco United 2-0.
Police FC, who entered the match as the favorites, found it difficult to break down their opponents in the clash that was played at the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County.
Bidco United showed a lot of resilience in the entire first half to ensure they went to the break without conceding a goal against the league leaders.

At the start of the second half, the situation was similar for Police FC, who created several goal scoring chances but failed to penetrate Bidco United’s solid backline.

Despite the frustrations that the Law Enforcers had in front of goal, they did not give up. Their patience paid off in the 70th minute when Mohammed Babajer broke the deadlock to give them a narrow 1-0 lead.
The situation got worse for Bidco United three minutes later when David Simiyu made it 2-0 for Police FC.
As the match continued, Police FC head coach Etienne Ndayiragije saw fit to replace the duo of Abud Omar and David Irishula with Emmanuel Erupe and Eric Zakayo in the 84th minute.

The changes allowed his side to see off the remainder of the match and in the process gathered three crucial points that helped them to extend their lead at the top of the FKFPL table with 41 points.
On the other hand, Bidco United maintained their 17th position with 18 points, with only the goal difference separating them from, who sit at the bottom of the log.
In other matches that were played on Saturday, FC Talanta produced the shocked many people when they secured a 3-2 victory over hosts Bandari FC at the Mbaraki Sports Club while Ulinzi Stars defeated Ulinzi Stars 2-1.

Elsewhere, AFC Leopards and Sofapaka hammered Mara Sugar and KCB FC 2-1 and 2-0 respectively in the matches that were staged at the Awendo Green Stadium and Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos.
