Murang'a SEAL Lucas Maina in action against Ulinzi Stars player

Murang’a SEAL and Ulinzi Stars will face off in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League Week 21 match, with both sides aiming to return to winning ways at the Sportpesa Arena in Murang’a County on Saturday afternoon.

The match, scheduled to kick off at 3:00 pm, will see the hosts, SEAL, seeking to end a winless streak stretching over their last five matches.

They have not secured a victory this year, with their most recent win dating back to December 22, 2024, when they narrowly defeated Talanta FC 1-0.

In their previous encounter, John Njogu’s side suffered a 2-0 loss to KCB, leaviing them in 13th place in the standings with 23 points from six wins, five draws, and nine losses.

SEAL’s home form has also been disappointing, as they remain at the bottom of the table.

Out of nine league matches played at home, they have only managed to win two, with one draw, and have been defeated in the remaining six matches.

While SEAL aim to rediscover their form and improve their home performances, Ulinzi Stars, under Dunstan Nyaudo, have also been struggling, failing to win their last three matches.

After a solid three-match winning streak, their momentum was halted by a narrow 1-0 loss to Tusker FC.

They followed that with a 1-1 draw against Bidco United and a goalless draw with Kakamega Homeboyz. This has left them in 11th place on the table with 24 points, consisting of five wins, nine draws, and six losses.

Ulinzi Stars have also faced challenges in away matches, securing only nine points from nine outings, with two wins, three draws, and four losses. However, Nyaudo has revealed that his squad is struggling, particularly in midfield, due to injuries to some key players.

“I am facing issues in midfield, as the creativity there is lacking. Four of my crucial players are injured—Stafford, Issa, and Javan Omondi. These players are vital in turning matches around, and replacing them is not easy. Finding a perfect substitute for a regular starter is a real challenge,” Nyaudo explained to the Sportpesa Blog.

In addition to the injured players, the soldiers will also be without Enosh Ochieng, who suffered a fracture to his left lateral malleolus against Kakamega Homeboyz and is expected to be out for eight weeks.

John Njogu has not reported any injuries within his squad but may consider making changes to the lineup that faced KCB over the weekend.
