Ulinzi Stars tactician Dunstan Nyaudo has expressed his frustration with his attacking players for squandering numerous opportunities in their barren draw against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday at the Dandora Stadium.
The soldiers entered the match with optimism, seeking a much-needed three points after dropping five points in their previous two games – a one-nil loss to Tusker and a 1-1 draw against Bidco United.
They had several clear-cut chances to seize victory, but their players lacked clinical finishing.
Just one minute into the game, their new signing Meshack Karani missed an open opportunity to give the hosts the lead. This was followed by two more chances that he failed to capitalize on.
Oscar Musa was another player who had nearly three opportunities in the second half to secure the win, but he too missed them all.

With their ninth draw of the season, the four-time top-flight champions slipped to 11th place in the standings with 24 points while Francis Braza’s side extended their unbeaten streak to 10 matches, rising to eighth place with 27 points.
Nyaudo lamented that although they earned one point, his strikers had failed him, stating that despite making more than four changes to the squad, nothing fruitful came from it.
âI think I am a disappointed person. My strikers have really let me down today. We had chances from the very first minuteâclear chancesâbut they are not converting them into goals,â Nyaudo told SportPesa Blog after the match.
âToday, I made changes, dropping four strikers and bringing in three fresh ones, but I donât see any difference. They are all blunt. We play well, we plan well, we build well, but when it comes to finishing, there is nothing. And in every training session, we focus on finishing,â he continued.

Nyaudo further stated that he will take responsibility for the result and work to address the issues as they prepare for their next match against Murangâa SEAL over the weekend.
âFinishing is one of the major issues Iâm dealing with, but I will take this as a coach. We will work on it and plan for our next game, which is SEAL on Saturday,â he added.
The gaffer also noted that the team is facing challenges in midfield, with a lack of creativity. He revealed that four key players are sidelined due to injury, and replacing them has proven difficult, contributing to the teamâs recent slump.
âI also have a problem in midfield. The creativity there is lacking because four of my key players are injuredâStafford, Issa, and Javan Omomdi.
These are players who turn things around for us, and itâs not easy to replace them. Finding a perfect substitute for a regular starter is a challenge,â Nyaudo explained.
