Shabana FC are set to travel to the Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Sunday to play a relegation-threatened Posta Rangers side in a mouthwatering Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) fixture.
Shabana will be seeking to bounce back from their last weekend’s barren draw with Kariobangi Sharks and gain the momentum to finish the season strong.
According to the club’s head coach Peter Okidi, they are well prepared for the game that is scheduled to start at 4 PM.

“So far, I thank God because we have arrived safely. The morale is also high in the team and we don’t have any injury concerns. Everyone is fit mentally and physically. Also, everyone is ready for tomorrow’s game. We have prepared for the Posta Rangers game keeping in mind that we dropped points last week at home.
So, we need to recover the points and the best way to do so is in the next game. Therefore, it will be a game that will have a lot of expectations from both sides, but we have prepared well as a team. So, we expect a positive result tomorrow based on how the players have trained,” offered Okidi.
Relegation battle
On the other hand, time is running out for Posta Rangers, who need to start winning games in order to stand a chance of avoiding relegation.
The Sammy “Omollo” Pamzo coached side currently sit at the bottom of the FKFPL table with 17 points, one behind FC Talanta who occupy the 15th position.

A win for Posta Rangers on Sunday will not only help them move a step closer to safety but also ensure Omollo gets the last laugh against his former employees.
The experienced coach was in charge of Shabana at the start of the season before parting ways with the club in October, 2024 due to a run of poor performances.

Posta Rangers skipper Dinken Mwema praises Omollo
Speaking ahead of the upcoming match, Rangers captain Dinken Mwema praised Omollo, stating that he has changed the mindset of the team.
“He has brought a lot of positive impact on us. Even in training, he is pushing us so hard in order to get the better version of ourselves,” he explained.
The player who operates as a defender added that they will do everything humanly possible to avoid relegation this season.
“We agreed to push hard in these games and see if we can salvage our situation and survive. We have to work hard and believe in ourselves in order to get out of the relegation zone,” commented Mwema.
Besides the Shabana versus Posta Rangers, several other FKFPL matches will be on offer on Sunday.
KCB FC will clash against Murang’a Seal while Ulinzi Stars will host Kakamega Homeboyz. The two matches will kick off at 1 pm at Kenyatta Stadium Machakos and Dandora Stadium respectively.
