The defending champions scored their goals via Geoffrey Ochieng and Shariff Musa in the game that was played in Machakos.
Sofapaka FC interim head coach Ezekiel Akwana was not a happy man after the defeat, citing poor officiating as one of the reasons why his side lost.
“The referee is the one who has made us lose this match, because if you see how the first half went, he gave them a lot of advantages in the middle of the pitch.
Yes, the first goal we conceded due to our mistakes but the second goal had not even crossed the line, but he ruled it out to be a goal.
So, officiating has been somewhat low in today’s match,” he told SportPesa Blog shortly after the encounter.

Akwana added that he will go back to the drawing board and prepare his side with nothing but a win on his mind in their next fixture.
According to him, his charges made a lot of blunders especially in the defence department, something that they will work on.
“My players in general have not played a good match because our speed was a little bit slow although we created some chances.
My goalkeeper made errors at the start of the match, but in our next match, I will rectify those blunders and we will manage to get a positive result,” explained Akwana.
