Shujaa sensational half-back Brian Tanga has stated that there is no easy game in the World Series, and they will have to work hard to ensure they beat their opponents in the upcoming third round of the HSBC SVNS in Perth, Australia.
The Kabras playmaker had missed the two rounds in Dubai Sevens and Cape Town Sevens last December due to injury.
However, Tanga made the final 13-man squad selected by Wambua for the campaign, which will continue from January 24 to 26, 2025.
Kenya is set to face tough teams in the series, including Fiji, New Zealand, and Uruguay in Pool C.
Tanga expressed his gratitude for making a comeback to the squad.
“I’m happy to be back. I have missed playing with my brothers, and I am looking forward to competing against the best players in the world,” he said, according to The Star.
Tanga, 30, acknowledged that the players represented the country well in the first two rounds, but he expects some improvements following the mistakes they made.

“The boys performed well, but a couple of tweaks here and there will enable them to do something special in the upcoming tournaments,” added Tanga.
Regarding the favorites in the series, Tanga remarked that there are no easy games in Sevens, and results are unpredictable.
However, he believes the team can overcome tough opponents by conducting thorough analysis.
“There are no easy games. Sevens is very unpredictable, and on any given day, any team can win. All the technical bench needs to do is conduct an extensive analysis of our opponents and capitalize on their weaknesses,” he added.

“If we snooze, we lose. We have to work hard and be at our best. Everyone wants to be part of the travelling squad,” said Tanga.
On his competition for the half-back position with KCB’s Samuel Asati, Tanga said it is a healthy and beneficial situation moving forward.
“We both play similar positions but our approach is different. It’s a good rivalry and it’s good for the team going forward.”
Shujaa will open their campaign against New Zealand at 6:00 am on January 24, followed by a match against Fiji at 10:59 am. Their final pool game is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, at 7:00 am against Uruguay.
