Harambee Starlets striker Tereza “Terry” Engesha has left South Korean Women’s Premier League side Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels.

The management of the club, which takes part in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women’s Champions League, broke the news on its social media platforms.

Besides Engesha, who has been an influential member of the squad since penning a contract with them several years ago, the club also parted ways with six other players.

“Players who ran hard with Hyundai Red Angels left for the last season. Thank you all for your hard work,” read part of a translated statement from the club.

Engesha joined Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels in March, 2022 after another spell with Vihiga Queens that saw her lift several titles.

Besides Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels, the three-time Kenya Women’s Premier League winner, has also had a stint with Swedish club Dalhem IF.  

Engesha leaves the team at a time when it is preparing to feature in the AFC Women’s Champions League quarter finals scheduled to be played in March.

Her goals played a crucial role in propelling Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels to the last eight, where they are expected to discover their opponents in a draw slated to be conducted on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Harambee Starlets striker Tereza “Terry” Engesha has left South Korean Women’s Premier League side Incheon Hyundai Steel Red Angels.

The 26-year-old, who bagged the Kenya Women’s Premier League golden boot awards in the 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 seasons, netted five goals in the group stage of the premier tournament.

The five goals that came against the likes of Abu Dhabi Country Club (United Arab Emirates) and Sabah Women FC (Malaysia) made her the joint top scorer going into the last stages of the competition.

Although Engesha is yet to announce her next move, she is likely to continue playing professional football outside Kenya due to her expertise in scoring goals.
