Kenyan marathoner Brimin Kipkorir displayed nerves of steel on Sunday morning to clinch the 2024 Taipei Marathon title.

Kipkorir, who entered the race as one of the favorites, did not disappoint as he led from the gun to tape. He endured the cold conditions in the streets of the Taiwanese capital and went on to win the World Athletics Gold Label road race in an impressive time of 2:11:41.

Kipkorir, who has a personal best of 2:06:18, was followed by Ethiopia’s Gadisa Birhanu Shumie and Eritrea’s Okubay Tsegay Gebretnsae. Shumie and Gebretnsae clocked 2:11:54 and 2:12:00 in that order.
