Shabana FC picked up a huge 2-0 win over the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) leaders KCB FC on Sunday evening at the Gusii Stadium.
The Glamour Boys, who were supported by thousands of their home fans, dominated the match from the start.
Their hard work and determination led to the first goal of the game which was scored in the 30th minute by their star Brian “Messi” Michira.
Although the visitors had a couple of goal-scoring opportunities, they did not do enough to penetrate Shabana’s backline.

The attention of the supporters was interrupted for a few seconds in the 59th minute when United States’ legislator Huldah Momanyi made her way to the Stadium to support her local side.
Eight minutes later, Shabana head coach Peter Okidi introduced 17-year-old Austine Odongo in place of Samuel Maiko.
The youngster did not look out of place in the Shabana team that continued to put pressure on the Bankers until the 90+1 minute when Odongo made it 2-0.
The huge win helped Shabana climb to the fifth position in the league standings with 20 points from 14 matches while KCB retained their spot at the top with 24 points from a similar number of games.

Elsewhere, Tusker FC managed to bounce back from their 4-1 defeat in the hands of AFC Leopards three days ago with a 2-1 victory over Bidco United.
Tusker went 1-0 ahead within just 11 minutes thanks to Ryan Ogam’s clinical left foot. Ogam, who is currently enjoying a fantastic form in front of goal dispatched the ball into the net after receiving a neat pass from Shaphan Oyugi.
Chris Erambo could have made it 2-0 for the Brewers but his ferocious long range shot was well-dealt with by Bidco United goalkeeper John Otieno.
At the start of the second half, Tusker head coach Charles Okere made a substitution, replacing George Kaddu with James Kibande.
As the game went on, Bidco United searched for the equalizer with all their might but their hopes of getting something from the match were dashed in the 59th minute when Ogam struck again.
Shaphan was also involved in the second goal as he made his way past several Bidco United players before finding Ogam, who directed the ball into the net.
Bidco United managed to pull one back at the stroke of the 90th minute but it was too late for them to collect anything from the match.
Speaking after scoring his 12th goal of the season, Ogam stated that the mind of everyone at the Tusker FC camp is fully focused on attaining the objectives that they have set for themselves.
“We have targets that we have set for ourselves as a team, of which we are aiming to achieve. So, we approach each game at a time and we hope in every game we will be able to collect maximum points in order for us to achieve what we want at the end of the season,” he explained.
