Shabana FC will square off against Kakamega Homeboyz on Sunday afternoon at the Mumias Complex in Kakamega County in a highly anticipated clash as they hunt for their fourth consecutive win of the season.

Kakamega Homeboyz will be hoping to return to winning ways after collecting only one point in their last two matches.

Since parting ways with coach Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo, Shabana, under the interim leadership of Peter Okidi, has found a rich vein of form, securing 9 points in their last three matches.

The SportPesa-sponsored outfit kicked off their impressive run with a narrow 1-0 victory over Police FC at Gusii Stadium before winning 1-0 away to Murang’a SEAL, also sponsored by SportPesa. That away victory was then followed by a hard-fought 2-1 home triumph against AFC Leopards.

These results have propelled the ToreBobe boys to 9th place, with 12 points from 10 matches.

Now under the tutelage Francis Baraza, Homeboyz will be eager to put their midweek 2-0 defeat to Gor Mahia behind them and kickstart their climb up the table.

Abana Abeingo will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing run and find their rhythm as they search for their third win of the season.

The team has struggled for form, finding themselves in the relegation zone with just nine points from 10 matches.

Shabana captain, George Orako, expressed confidence ahead of the match, crediting the team’s recent good performances for the growing sense of motivation within the camp.

“It’s a great feeling to win these matches because they give us the drive to keep pushing for more positive results,” Orako told SportPesa blog.

He also highlighted the positive atmosphere in the squad: “The training has been excellent, and the morale in the camp is high. We are ready to face Kakamega Homeboyz.”

When the two sides met last season, Kakamega Homeboyz won 2-0 in the first leg, while the second leg ended in a goalless draw. Shabana will be hoping to exact revenge and build on their strong recent form.

The match will kick off at 2:00 PM EAT.

In another match, Kariobangi Sharks will be looking to snap a six-match winless streak when they face Sofapaka at the Dandora Stadium. Ulinzi Stars, on the other hand, will take on Mathare United at the Kinoru Stadium in Meru.
