Ex-Harambee Stars striker Dennis Oliech has expressed confidence in the national team getting a win against Zimbabwe when the two sides lock horns in an important Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 qualifying clash slated for Friday.
The eagerly anticipated clash is set to be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, South Africa from 7 pm East African time with Harambee Stars needing all three points in order to stand any chance of booking a ticket to the continental showpiece.
The team currently occupies the third spot with four points behind the Warriors of Zimbabwe, who have managed eight points so far.
Speaking ahead of the clash, Oliech was adamant that Harambee Stars will deliver positive results.

“We are not in a good position. We have four points, so it is a must-win. A draw will bundle us out of contention for the 2025 AFCON slot. These two games are a must-win especially the first one which is very crucial.
They first have to win their clash against Zimbabwe so that we can think about the second one. Olunga will score for us a goal,” explained the former AJ Auxerre player on Arocho Live Podcast.
Oliech, who helped Harambee Stars qualify for the 2004 AFCON tournament, reallied Kenyan fans to support Harambee Stars in their final Group J match should they manage to tame the Zimbabweans.
“If we manage to get a win against Zimbabwe, the match against Namibia will also be a must win. We have to travel with all the fans from Nairobi to support our team,” he ended.

The Engin Firat boys are scheduled to play their final qualifying fixture against Namibia on Tuesday, November 19.
The fixture, which was initially scheduled to be host at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda, will also take place at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Firat recently disclosed that the changes were made to give his side a better chance of getting a good result.
“Namibia would be even earlier than us in Uganda, and when you think you only have three days between, we would be destroyed when we arrive in Uganda.
So, therefore we decided to play there because it is something about logistics which makes it impossible for us to play in Uganda,” stated the 54-year-old.
