“I had vowed to ensure every sports federation would adhere to established legal requirements on term limits and elections,” Kipchumba stated on his social media.
“With Football Kenya Federation (FKF) elections scheduled for December 7, 2024, the Office of the Sports Registrar and I have implemented a range of measures to ensure these elections are fair and transparent.”
He said that one key measure is ensuring that all registered clubs are verified and comply with the Sports Act, with their details submitted to the FKF Electoral Board.
Additionally, all candidates must be cleared by relevant government bodies.

“A verified list of registered clubs submitted to the FKF Electoral Board and strict compliance with the Sports Act, which requires all candidates to clear regulatory checks from relevant government bodies.” the statement added.
On the election process, the CS affirmed that the Electoral Body, along with observers from sports organizations and the Ministry of Sports, will oversee the elections to ensure transparency.
“The election process mandates that FKF appoint an independent electoral panel and conduct the elections openly. Observers from sports organizations and the Ministry will ensure the process is credible, and any disputes will be addressed by the Sports Disputes Tribunal, providing a fair avenue for appeals,” he said.
This comes a day after the Electoral Board published the final list of delegate clubs and candidates eligible to participate in the elections.
