Simba are set to lock horns with rivals Yanga in a blockbuster 24/25 Tanzanian Premier League tie scheduled for Saturday, October 19 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
The two sides will be seeking to pick up the maximum points in their first league derby this season as they bid to clinch the coveted title at the end of the season.
Hosts Simba currently sit third in the standings with 13 points from five matches, three behind league leaders Singida Black Stars FC who have played one extra game.
On the other hand, Yanga, who have only played four matches this season, are in fifth position on 12 points.

The Miguel Gamondi-coached side go into the match starting at 5 pm with the hopes of extending their unbeaten streak against Simba SC.
In the two most recent league matches, Yanga secured all six points, thrashing the record champions 5-1 in the first round before securing a 2-1 win in the return leg.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, which usually brings the City of Dar es Salaam to a standstill, Gamondi stated that what happened in the past does not matter to him.
“We respect all the clubs in the league. We have a difficult game since it is a derby, but we know how we will play. I have always said that I don’t look at history. Our aim is to look at what the future holds,” stated the Argentine international.

On his part, Simba head coach Fadlu Davids acknowledged that they will have to be at their best in order to stop Yanga.
“We have to play according to our plans and dominate this match in order to pick up a win. We know it will not be an easy game because it is a meeting between the top clubs,” he explained.
