Kisumu All Starlets faced a tough start in their Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League debut as they suffered a 1-0 home defeat against Zetech Sparks at Moi Stadium on Sunday.
In that match, a single goal from Beverine Adika was all that was needed to secure the three points for Zetech Sparks.
Meanwhile, the defending champions, Police Bullets, began their season on a high note, decisively beating newcomers Kisped 3-0 at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.

Lydia Okoth opened the scoring for Police Bullets in the 39th minute.
The second half saw Rebecca Okwara extend the lead as she scored in the 55th minute before sealing her brace in the 63rd minute, securing a strong win for the Beldine Odemba-led team.
In Bungoma, Kibera Soccer Women handed Bungoma Queens a 2-0 defeat at Bungoma National Polytechnic. Goals from Amina Nyakoa and Anna Areusi, scored in the 10th and 90th minute respectively, ensured Kibera returned home with all three points.

In another match, Ulinzi Starlets, the reigning women’s FKF Cup champions, narrowly lost to Vihiga Queens, with Providence Mukalo scoring a late goal to clinch the victory for Vihiga at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.
Trinity Starlets kicked off their premier league campaign impressively, achieving a convincing 3-0 victory against Bunyore Starlets at RVIST Grounds in Nakuru. Chesang Jackline shone with two goals, netting in the 3rd and 48th minute, while Sichi Euphrasia added a third to seal the win.
Mombasa Olympic FC also made a strong debut, securing three points with a 2-0 victory over Wadadia FC at Ronald Ngala Primary School.
