The 2026/27 FKF Women’s Premier League (WPL) campaign gets underway today, Saturday, September 19, 2026, featuring a stacked lineup of opening-day fixtures across the country.

Action kicks off in Nairobi at the Kasarani Annex, where Mathare United Women FC hosts four-time league champions Vihiga Queens FC in an early 12:00 PM kickoff.

Mathare are back in the top flight after winning the FKF Women National Super League Zone A title last season, and the Slum Girls face an immediate benchmark against the Western region giants in a baptism of fire.

In Homa Bay, Gideons Starlets FC welcomes military side Ulinzi Starlets FC to the Raila Odinga Stadium at 2:00 PM.

Ulinzi Starlets are significantly boosted by the return of six key players, Cindy Ngaira, Lavender Akinyi, Joy Kinglady, Tabitha Amoit, Mary Ojenge, and Monalizer Anyango who passed out from the Recruits Training School (RTS) after completing their military training.

The last season runners up will be hoping to kickstart their title charge in the strongest way possible as coach Collins Ochieng chases the elusive first title.

Simultaneously in Nakuru, Trinity Starlets FC lock horns with Kibera Soccer Women FC at 2:00 PM at the Afraha Stadium.

Kibera Soccer Women, having clinched a top-three finish last term, head to Nakuru intent on setting an early standard, while Trinity Starlets look to leverage home tadvantage to try and be in the hunt for top honors in their second season in the top flight.

The Saturday action concludes at the Police Sacco Grounds in Nairobi at 3:00 PM, where defending champions Police Bullets FC host Bungoma Queens FC. This fixture is a direct replica of the 2024/25 Gameweek 1 opener at the same venue, where Police Bullets claimed a 2-0 victory.

The law enforcers will be hoping to start on a high note and bounce back strongly following their painful heartbreak in the CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA zonal qualifiers, where they missed out on continental qualification after a narrow loss to Uganda’s Kawempe Muslim Ladies.
