Following an impressive showing at the Paris 2024 Olympics, Malkia Strikers ace Pamela Adhiambo Owino has completed a move to Finnish outfit LP Viesti on a one-year contract.
Adhiambo, who was a Kenya Pipeline player before the move, was one of the standout players for the women’s national team in Paris despite their poor show as they finished last in Pool B following three straight losses.
In the announcement on her social media pages, the 22-year-old confirmed the move as she promised to make the most out of the opportunity that has knocked on her door.

“I am excited to announce that I’ve signed a one-year contract with LP Viesti, one of Finland’s top volleyball teams, following my performances at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Pamela Adhiambo joins LP Viesti
Adhiambo powerful outside hitter led Kenya Pipeline to the 2023 title while being crowned the Most Valuable Player in the league.
According to information online, LP Viesti Salo is a women’s volleyball club from Salo that plays in the Finnish Volleyball Championship League and the European Volleyball Federation CEV Cup competitions.
In the season 2022-2023 it appeared in the CEV Challenge Cup.
The club was founded in 2008. Previously, Viesti’s volleyball activities were in connection with Salon Viesti, but split off into its own club.

During the Salon Relay years, the team won four Finnish Championship silver medals (2001, 2003, 2006 and 2007), one Finnish Championship bronze (2008) and three Finnish Cup wins (2002, 2004 and 2007).
Since its establishment in 2008, LP Viesti won a medal every year in Mestaruusliiga until the 2021-2022 season, excluding 2019-2020 when no medals were awarded (10 gold, 2 silver) and seven Finnish Cup championships.
The club has been in the toughest club tournament in the world, the Champions League, now three times and has a record of 1 win and 17 defeats there. In the 2014-2015 season, the club was the first Nordic club to participate in the Champions League including men and women.
