Edgar Makori became the latest millionaire in town after winning a SportPesa Mega Jackpot bonus of Ksh 1,008,918.
The chef, who hails from Zimmerman in Nairobi, grabbed the staggering amount after correctly predicting the outcome of 15 out of the 17 games in the SportPesa Mega Jackpot.
The 27-year-old chef registered with SportPesa back in 2014 and has been an active player since then but has never won such an amount.
He placed his bet on Saturday at around 4 PM just before the Mega Jackpot kicked off at 8:30 P and until Sunday evening, he did not follow up on the matches due to the nature of his work.
“My friend had also placed a bet and he dialled me on Sunday telling me how he had only predicted 12 games correctly. Unbothered by the outcome, I got home after work and watched a movie until 12 AM. That is when I saw online that I had won the Mega Jackpot bonus after 15 correct predictions,” he revealed.

He went further to narrate how he doubted the message to the extent of sharing screenshots with his friend for verification. Makori only believed after assurance from his friend that the message seemed genuine.
“After the assurance call from my friend, I could not sleep anymore, and I decided to wash my soaked clothes to push the night,” said the delighted chef.
Makori’s plan for the money is to renovate his hotel located in Parklands to make it more appealing to his customers and even bring in more clients.
He urged other people to register and play with SportPesa as he also promised to keep on playing with his overall goal being to claim the overall amount.
SportPesa Mega Jackpot
Makori’s 15 out of 17 correct predictions denied him a chance to be the highest-ever jackpot winner in Kenya as the overall prize stood at over 356 million which was up in the SportPesa’s week-on-week progressive Mega Jackpot.
This week’s jackpot has since risen to KSH 357,586,527.
