KCB Rugby reclaimed the Impala Floodlit title for a record-extending 11th time after thrashing Kenya Harlequin 47-7 in the 2026 final played on Saturday night at the Impala Sports Club.
The Bankers last won the title in 2023, and in 2026, under Andrew Amonde, they needed little convincing to reclaim it.
Four tries in the first half, coupled with three more after the break, sealed the victory in a repeat of the 2014 final, when the two sides also met.
The Bankers ensured Quin, who managed just one try on the night, continued to hunger for a title they last won in 1998.
“This victory is a reflection of the hard work, commitment and belief within this squad. We came into the tournament with a clear objective, and the players have delivered by staying focused on our game plan and executing when it mattered most.
Winning the Floodlit title for the 11th time is a proud moment for the club, and I commend the entire team for the character they have shown.
We will celebrate this achievement, but our focus now shifts to the next challenge,” coach Amonde said after the game, marking his first 15s title in his coaching career.

In a packed and chilly stadium, Quin put up a solid defensive display in the opening minutes, denying the Bankers opportunities to cross their 22-metre line.
However, a few minutes later, one of their players missed a kick from the right wing, allowing Elvis Olukusi to collect the ball who offloaded to Branton Lusisa before sprinting down the wing and beating his marker to score the opening try for Amonde’s charges. Brian Wahinya added the extras.
Quin missed a penalty opportunity to reduce the deficit shortly after the restart. Moments later, Sheldon Kahi extended KCB’s advantage after the Bankers executed their lineout perfectly, with the resulting maul overpowering Quin’s defence. Wahinya converted the try to stretch the lead.
After conceding the second try, Quin finally responded with a well-worked effort on the left wing before Faran added the extras.

However, Quin failed to build on the narrow margin they had clawed back, as KCB caught them napping on the right wing. Another well-executed lineout set up Fortune Aturo, who dotted down from the maul before Wahinya slotted the conversion.
Defensive lapses once again proved costly for Quin, who struggled to clear the ball from their 22.
Charles Osgood capitalised to extend KCB’s lead, with Wahinya adding the extras as the Bankers headed into the break with a commanding 28-7 advantage.
Vincent Onyala was among the second-half try scorers, crossing the line to stretch KCB’s lead to 38-7.
Stephen Osumba converted to take the score to 40-7 before the Bankers added two more tries, with Osumba converting the final effort to complete the 47-7 rout.
With the Floodlit title secured, KCB and other teams will now turn their attention to the 2026/2027 Kenya Cup season, which is scheduled to kick off on November 21, 2026.
