AFC Leopards will be out to maintain their unbeaten start to the season while chasing their first SportPesa League 2026/27 victory when they visit Kenya Police FC on Tuesday afternoon at Nyayo Stadium.

Ingwe got off to a disappointing start last week when they hosted Bandari FC at Police Sacco Stadium, settling for a goalless draw after squandering several chances.

Now, Fred Ambani’s charges, who are targeting silverware, will be eager to announce themselves by securing their maiden victory of the campaign.

Above all,Ingwe will be keen to avoid anything short of a win and put an end to the three consecutive draws that plagued their opening matches last season, ultimately proving decisive in their failure to clinch a title they last won 28 years ago.

Speaking to the club’s media ahead of the clash, coach Fred Ambani admitted that his side performed well against Bandari and will look to build on the lessons learned while correcting the mistakes from their previous encounter with Police, where they suffered a 3-0 defeat.

“We did not expect the result against Bandari. We had our moments, but we failed to make them count, and those two points are gone. Looking back at the last match we played against Police, where we lost 3-0, I think it was a learning curve.

We went back to the drawing board, identified where we went wrong, and expect to take a different approach in this match. We don’t expect to make many changes from the last game because the players performed well; it’s just that luck was not on our side,” Ambani stated.

Meanwhile, the former champions, Kenya Police FC, will also be seeking their first full three points of the season after opening their campaign with a 1-1 draw against Migori Youth last week in Awendo.

The 2024 champions will also be on a mission to register their second-ever victory over AFC Leopards since earning promotion to the top flight in 2021.

A 3-0 triumph in their most recent meeting at Nyayo National Stadium saw the Law Enforcers end anine-match winless run against Ingwe.

Now, heading into their 11th top flight meeting, Police will be looking to assert their growing dominance over the Leopards.

The match is schedulerd to kick off at 3pm East Africa Time at Nyayo National Stadium.
