Defending Driftwood 7s champions KCB Rugby have made six changes to the squad that lifted the Kabeberi 7s title last weekend as they prepare to return to Mombasa for the fourth leg of the 2026 SportPesa National 7s Circuit.
The bankers will be hoping to continue their strong run in the series when the coastal tournament gets underway at Mombasa Sports Club on August 22 and 23.
KCB head into the weekend with considerable momentum after adding the Kabeberi 7s title to their earlier triumph at the Prinsloo 7s. Their consistent performances have also seen them establish themselves at the top of the National 7s Circuit standings.

Despite the changes, the Nairobi-based side has retained a strong core from the team that delivered silverware at the RFUEA Grounds, with eight players keeping their places for the trip to Mombasa.
Vincent Onyala, George Ooro, Mike Wekesa, Brian Wahinya, Richel Wangila, Samuel Asati, Eugene Omondi and Emmanuel Opondo remain part of the squad, offering coach Andrew Amonde a blend of experience and familiarity as KCB begin their title defence.
Among the notable additions are youngsters Clyde Kimaya and Kevin Ochieng, who have been handed an opportunity to feature at one of the circuit’s biggest tournaments. Festus Shiasi, Hillary Salano, Steven Osumba and David Nyangge complete the incoming group.
The changes mean Jenkins Kipruto, Amaitsa Nygel, Floyd Wabwire, Dominic Sande and Austin Sikutwa will not be part of the KCB squad in Mombasa.
KCB will once again be guided by former Kenya Sevens star Andrew Amonde, with Jacob Ojee serving as his assistant. Peter Kilonzo will work as the performance analyst, while Joseph Kolli takes charge of physiotherapy. Rocky Aguko will serve as team manager, with Kenneth Wandera handling logistics.
The champions have been drawn in Pool B alongside KU Blak Blad, Kisumu RFC and Uganda 7s, setting up an interesting group as they begin their quest to retain the Driftwood crown.
With the National 7s Circuit reaching a crucial stage, KCB will be keen to maintain the consistency that has taken them to the summit. However, the introduction of younger players could also provide an opportunity for the club to build depth as the season enters its decisive stretch.
The Driftwood 7s title will therefore be about more than defending last year’s success. KCB will also be looking to strengthen their grip on the overall circuit standings and maintain the momentum that has already produced two tournament victories this season.
