The French season gets underway with a much-anticipated heavyweight clash as Lens battle it out against PSG in the Super Cup on Sunday evening.

Lens won their first-ever Coupe de France title last season, defeating Nice 3-1 in the final, while PSG were crowned Ligue 1 champions for the fifth consecutive season.

Lens battled until the end of Ligue 1 last season, losing 2-0 to PSG, which eventually cost them the chance to win the domestic trophy. They will need to be at their very best to exert revenge against a rampant PSG outfit.

Luis Enrique’s side already added a title to their cabinet last week when they beat Aston Villa 2-1 to win the UEFA Super Cup for a second straight season. Desire Doue and Kvicha Kvaratshkeilia were responsible for the goals.

This will be only the second time that Lens are in the Super Cup final, with their last appearance coming almost two decades ago in 1998.

PSG narrowly beat Marseille on penalties in this final last season and are here seeking a record fifth consecutive Super Cup title. They have not lost a Trophee des Champions final since Lille beat them in 2021.

Lens have not beaten PSG since 2023, losing four of the last five matches they have played against their rivals. Can they turn things around here to win a second title this year?

Here is our predicted outcome for the upcoming game.
