The 2026 Kabeberi 7s gets underway on Saturday, 15 August, at the RFUEA Grounds as the SportPesa National 7s Circuit returns for its third leg after a two-week break.
The tournament brings together 16 Division One sides, with the opening day dedicated to pool-stage action as teams battle for favourable positions ahead of Sunday’s knockout rounds.
Daystar Falcons and Impala RFC will get proceedings underway at 8:00am, with Kenya Harlequin FC taking on Kisumu RFC 20 minutes later. Strathmore Leos will then face Catholic Monks before hosts Mwamba RFC open their campaign against Nondescripts at 9:00am.

Zetech Oaks will face MSC Rugby at 9:20am, while Menengai Oilers take on KU Blak Blad at 9:40am. Defending champions KCB Rugby will begin their title defence against Nakuru RFC at 10:00am, followed by Kabras Sugar RFC’s clash with MMUST at 10:20am.
The pool-stage action will continue throughout the day before the final round of fixtures, which includes some of the tournament’s most anticipated encounters.
Kenya Harlequin will face Daystar Falcons at 4:00pm, while Mwamba RFC meet Strathmore Leos at 4:20pm. Menengai Oilers will then take on Zetech Oaks at 4:40pm before the day concludes with a mouth-watering clash between Kabras Sugar and KCB Rugby at 5:00pm.
The meeting between the two sides is expected to attract plenty of attention, with Kabras currently leading the National 7s Circuit standings on 41 points, six ahead of KCB. The Kakamega-based side will be looking to extend their advantage, while KCB will be keen to close the gap as they pursue another circuit title.
Hosts Mwamba will also be aiming to make home advantage count as they navigate a tough pool that includes Nondescripts, Catholic Monks and Strathmore Leos.
Women’s rugby will feature prominently on the opening day, with the first fixtures scheduled for 10:40am and the final pool matches set for 5:40pm.
The tournament moves into the knockout phase on Sunday, with the women’s quarter-finals starting at 8:20am before the men’s Cup quarter-finals get underway at 9:00am.
The men’s quarter-finals will run through to 11:20am, followed by the women’s semi-finals at 11:40am and noon. The men’s classification and Cup matches will then dominate the afternoon build-up to the finals.
The women’s final is scheduled for 4:48pm, while the Division One men’s final will bring the tournament to a close at 5:10pm.
Kabeberi is the third stop on the 2026 National 7s Circuit after the Prinsloo 7s and Dala 7s, making the two-day tournament another crucial opportunity for teams to collect points in the season-long race.
