SportPesa National Sevens Circuit reigning champions KCB Rugby will rekindle their rivalry with Kabras Sugar when the two sides meet this evening in the 2026 Prinsloo 7s Main Cup final.
Marking the first stop of the SportPesa 7s 2026 campaign at Nakuru Athletics Club, KCB managed to weather a Kenya Harlequins scare as they came from behind to beat them 24-12 in the semifinals, while Kabras Sugar edged Nondies 14-10 to set up this thrilling final.
The Bankers were given a rude awakening in the semifinal by a resolute Quins defense.
Floyd Wabwire lost possession under pressure, Patrick Wainaina was just in the area, picked the ball, and tossed it to George Ooro, who was on his way to dive through and went all the way to give his side a rare 7-0 lead.

KCB responded well to the early setback. From inside their own 22, Festus Shiasi gathered the ball on the left wing and sprinted past his marker to score, reducing the deficit to 7-5 at halftime.
The Bankers started the second half brightly as Brian Wahinya spotted Wabwire in space. The speedster burst through the defensive line, beat several defenders, and dotted down between the posts, with Wahinya adding the extras to put KCB ahead.
Andrew Amonde’s charges soon extended their lead after a well-executed lineout. Ooro stole possession, powered through the defense, and touched down to make it 17-7.
KCB sealed their place in the final when Olukusi crossed for another try before the hooter, stretching the lead to 24-7. Although Harlequins managed a late consolation try, KCB comfortably progressed with a 24-12 victory.
Meanwhile, Nondescripts made the brighter start in the other semifinal, piling pressure on Kabras Sugar.
Their persistence paid off from a scrum as Raonnie Omondi released Charles Odhimabo out wide, with the winger diving over in the corner for a 5-0 lead.
Kabras responded swiftly through Ravon Ambale, who sliced through the defense to level the scores, although Jackson Siketi was unable to convert.
Siketi later made amends by finishing off a brilliant offload from Ambale to score, before Ambale successfully converted to give Kabras a 12-5 halftime lead.
Omondi reduced the deficit in the second half after a quick tap-and-go, diving over from the right wing to bring Nondescripts within four points.
However, Kabras held firm defensively to secure a hard-fought 14-10 victory and punch their ticket to the final.
