Jude Bellingham scored twice as England came from behind to grind out a 2-1 victory over Norway after extra time on Sunday in Miami, to book their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup semifinals.
The 1966 champions needed the full 120 minutes to shake off a stubborn Norwegian side, and just as he did in the Round of 16 against co-hosts Mexico, the Real Madrid man bagged another brace.
He cancelled out Andreas Schjelderup’s first-half opener before grabbing the winner in extra time, sending England into the World Cup semifinals for the first time since 2018.
They will now face either defending champions Argentina or Switzerland on Wednesday in Atlanta.

Norway, who stunned five-time champions Brazil in the previous round, made a flying start and struck first.
It looked like a cross from the left aimed at Erling Haaland at the back post, but Schjelderup instead guided the ball into the top-right corner off the post.
Harry Kane and the England players appealed for a foul by Patrick Berg in the build-up, but the referee waved play on and VAR agreed with the decision.
The Three Lions responded just before halftime after creating the better chances throughout the opening 45 minutes.
Anthony Gordon burst down the left after collecting a clever pass from Elliot Anderson, beating his marker before delivering a low cross into the area.
Bellingham arrived perfectly to fire a composed finish beyond Orjan Nyland and level the score.
Kane thought he had given England the lead moments later with a delicate volley, but the effort was ruled out for offside.
The second half produced few clear-cut opportunities, with Norway striking the woodwork while England carved out only occasional openings as both teams settled into a tense stalemate that forced the match into extra time.
Thomas Tuchel’s men started extra time brightly and eventually found the breakthrough.
Morgan Rogers unleashed a powerful effort that Nyland could only parry into the danger area, where Bellingham reacted quickest to slide home his second goal of the night and put England ahead for the first time in the quarterfinal.
Norway pushed for an equaliser, but their spirited run came to an end.
Despite the defeat, they can leave the tournament with pride after reaching the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time in over two decades, while Haaland finished the campaign with at least seven goals.
