- Ghana predicted lineup: Jordan Ayew and Inaki Williams set to lead the attack for The Black Stars against Croatia.
- The match kicks off on Sunday, June 28 from 00:00AM EAT at Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania).
- Following mixed results in the opening two matches. The Black Stars need a win to qualify among top two teams in Group L.
Ghana head into their final Group L fixture against Croatia knowing that another positive result could be enough to secure a place in the knockout rounds of the 2026 FIFA World Cup though they could still qualify among the third-best sides in the competition.
The Black Stars have enjoyed an encouraging start to their campaign, opening with a hard-fought victory over Panama before producing a disciplined defensive display to hold England to a goalless draw.
Those four points have left Carlos Queiroz’s side in a strong position, but there is still plenty of work to do against a Croatian side that also has qualification ambitions.

Croatia recovered from a heavy defeat to England by defeating Panama in their second group match, setting up a decisive encounter where both teams have everything to play for.
With qualification likely to be decided over 90 minutes, Ghana will need another composed and tactically disciplined performance.
Benjamin Asare is expected to retain his place between the posts after an outstanding display against England. The goalkeeper produced several crucial saves and commanded his penalty area confidently to help Ghana keep their second consecutive clean sheet.
Although Lawrence Ati-Zigi has recovered from injury and returned to training, Asare appears to have done enough to remain the first choice for this important fixture.
Defensively, Ghana have looked solid throughout the tournament, with Jerome Opoku and Jonas Adjetey developing an impressive partnership at the heart of the backline. Their ability to win aerial duels, make timely interceptions and stay compact has played a major role in the Black Stars’ defensive record.
Baba Rahman is expected to continue at left-back, providing width whenever Ghana transition into attack, while Alidu Seidu should retain his place on the opposite flank with his pace and defensive awareness.
The midfield trio of Thomas Partey, Kweku Sibo and Caleb Yirenkyi is also expected to remain unchanged. Partey’s leadership and positional discipline allow Ghana to dictate possession, while Sibo’s relentless pressing and ball-winning ability provide balance in midfield.
Yirenkyi offers creativity between the lines and has shown the vision to unlock opposition defences with incisive forward passes.

Going forward, Ghana will rely on the pace and direct running of Abdul Fatawu Issahaku and Iñaki Williams to stretch Croatia’s defence on the counterattack. Both wide players possess the speed to exploit spaces in transition and deliver quality service into the penalty area.
Captain Jordan Ayew is expected to spearhead the attack once again. His experience, movement and hold-up play will be crucial as Ghana seek to convert the chances they create. The Black Stars are likely to remain compact without the ball before looking to break quickly whenever possession is regained.
With a place in the Round of 32 within touching distance, Ghana will be aiming to produce another disciplined display and extend their impressive unbeaten run in Group L.
