- Spain predicted lineup: Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams set to lead the attack for La Roja against Uruguay.
- The match kicks off on Saturday, June 27 from 3:00AM EAT at Estadio Akron (Zapopan) in Guadalajara.
- Following mixed results in the opening two matches. La Roja need a win to seal top spot in Group H.
Spain will be looking to seal top spot in Group H when they face Uruguay in their final group-stage fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
La Roja recovered brilliantly from their shock opening defeat to Cabo Verde by producing a dominant 4-0 victory over Saudi Arabia, a result that moved them to the summit of the group and put them within touching distance of the Round of 32.
Luis de la Fuente’s side now know that avoiding defeat against Uruguay should be enough to finish as group winners, unless Cabo Verde record an unlikely huge-margin victory over Saudi Arabia.

Despite Spain being in a strong position, De la Fuente is expected to field a near full-strength side as he looks to maintain momentum ahead of the knockout rounds. Uruguay remain one of South America’s strongest teams and possess enough quality to punish any complacency.
Unai Simón is expected to continue in goal, with the Athletic Club goalkeeper still ahead of David Raya and Joan García in the pecking order.
Pedro Porro is tipped to keep his place at right-back after an impressive display against Saudi Arabia, while teenage sensation Pau Cubarsí should once again partner the experienced Aymeric Laporte in central defence. Marc Cucurella is expected to continue at left-back after another energetic performance.
In midfield, Ballon d’Or winner Rodri will once again anchor the side and dictate the tempo of Spain’s build-up play. Dani Olmo is likely to retain his place after an influential display in the previous match, while Pedri will be tasked with linking midfield and attack with his vision, movement and passing range.
The attacking unit is expected to feature plenty of pace and creativity. Lamine Yamal announced himself on the World Cup stage with his first tournament goal against Saudi Arabia and is set to continue on the right wing.
Nico Williams could be rewarded with his first start of the competition after making two lively substitute appearances, giving Spain another explosive outlet on the left flank.

Leading the line will be Mikel Oyarzabal, who rediscovered his scoring touch with a brace in the last outing. The Real Sociedad striker has been one of Spain’s most reliable finishers in recent internationals and will be eager to add to his tally against Uruguay.
Spain know that another positive result would not only secure first place in the group but also strengthen their credentials as genuine contenders for a second World Cup title. However, Uruguay’s physicality, experience and attacking threat mean La Roja will need another disciplined performance to finish the group stage on a high.
