Tusker FC vs kenya Police FC FKF Cup 2026 final Lineups

A memorable day at Kwale Stadium saw Tusker FC secure the 2026 FKF Cup title while booking their direct ticket to the CAF Confederation Cup, overcoming regular-season struggles to edge out Kenya Police 2-1 in the final on Sunday Afternoon.

It was the Law Enforcers who started off early on and could have opened the lead in the very first minute.

Yves Koutiama unleashed a long-range shot on target from his weak left foot, forcing Tusker goalkeeper Pavel Ndzila into a sharp parry to deny the early breakthrough.

Kenya Police continued with the onslaught and could have had a goal in the tenth minute when Marvin Nabwire’s dangerous effort hit the side netting.

Despite sustained pressure from the 2024 winners, it was Tusker who eventually took the lead in the 24th minute against the run of play.

Fabian Adikiny won possession cleanly in midfield before holding up play, allowing Ian Simiyu to join the attack. Adikiny then expertly set up the versatile forward, who struck perfectly on his left foot to break the deadlock.

Their lead would last only five minutes. In the 29th minute, Eugene Ikutwa fouled Yves Koutiama, receiving a yellow card from the referee for the reckless challenge.

The resultant freekick saw Sportpesa League Defender of the Season Runners-Up Abud Omar net a spectacular long-range set-piece to restore parity.

Tusker, however, were not deflated. In the 37th minute, the Brewers regained their lead through a blistering counter-attack.

Yakeen Muteheli made a wonderful run down the left flank before teeing up Simiyu, who clinical bagged his brace by netting into the bottom left corner to send Tusker into the halftime break with a 2-1 cushion.

Trailing after the restart, Kenya Police emerged with greater urgency, desperate to find a way back into the tie. They began dictating possession and pushing numbers forward, launching a series of attacks throughout the second half.

Despite heavy late pressure from the law enforcers, Tusker’s defense stood resolute. Police were unable to get anything meaningful past the stubborn backline, who broke up dangerous transitions.

The triumph writes a glorious new chapter for the Ruaraka-based side, who also secure their return to continental football as Kenya’s sole representatives in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
